Following on from the historic win witnessed in United Park in the FAI Junior Cup, more big cup football comes to the Golf Course Road venue this Saturday as the U.13’s takes on Bridge United in the last 32 of the Skechers SFAI Cup, and they are looking forward to a great game of football.

Westport comes into the tie on the back of a narrow 2-1 loss against Castlebar Celtic in the Regional semi final recently. In the main competition, Westport had comfortable wins over Coolaney Celtic, Maree/Oranmore and Ballyboro FC before overcoming a very good AC Celtic side 3-0 in Athlone to reach the last 32.

Bridge United have reached this point on the virtue of a 1-0 win against Castleisland FC before advancing with a 3-0 win over AK United from Limerick and advanced to this stage with another win against Limerick opposition, this time a 3-1 win over Regional United.

While Westport have a deserved reputation as Connaught U.12 Cup holders, Bridge United FC are an unknown quantity and a side that cannot be taken lightly and the home team will have to be at their best to earn themselves a place in the last 16.

Kick off at United Park on Saturday is at 2:00 and a large crowd is expected to attend this captivating cup tie and every bit of support would be appreciated.
