The U.13s had two great wins in their last two matches, firstly against a brave Ballinrobe Town team that gave a great account of themselves but found Westport in great form. The second game saw Westport playing exceptional football against a very good Kilmurray side that had an excellent year and ran out 4-1 winners. The U.13B team took on Ballyheane in a real see-saw, ding-dong game of football that was full of excitement and drama. Both sides were entertaining and excellent throughout and played out a breathtaking 3-3 draw. The U.13C team took on Manulla B and it was a brilliant contest as both teams were a credit to a good game of football. Westport were narrow winners on a 2-1 scoreline. The U.13D team travelled to Kilmurray and were in flying form against Kilmurray’s B team. It was a game that saw two top sides playing good football and it was Westport that came away with a 5-2 win. The U.13E team took on Manulla C in their league game and it was a joy to watch as both sides were evenly matched and looked really exciting going forward and goals were aplenty with Westport really tested while winning 3-2.
The U.15B team took on Ballyvary Blue Bombers and they were up against a side in fine form. Westport did play really well but the Central Mayo side proved to be too strong, winning 4-2. The U.15C team had a great win against a very good Claremorris B side with the final score 3-0. The U.15D team were involved in a very tight, close game against Claremorris C in an evenly matched game between two good teams. Westport edged a very good game 1-0.
The U.15 Girls team had an excellent away win to a very good Ballinrobe Town team, winning 3-0, while the U.15 Girls B team were missing a number of players but they put in a great performance against a much stronger Killala team but the North Mayo side were 4-1 winners.
The U.17s continued their excellent start to the season with a hard fought 2-1 win away to a good Kilmurray side.
