Following a short break, junior football action resumes this weekend with two home games.
This evening, Westport United will be hoping to get back to winning ways with a home tie against Snugboro United in the Westaro Cup. While Snugboro aren’t exactly setting the pace alight, this is, however, a tie that Westport should treat with minimum complacency if they wish to advance into the semi final and the lads knows that they will have to up their game to advance. Kick off at United Park is at 7:00 and a large crowd is expected. Coverage will also be provided on the Westport United Facebook page.
Tomorrow afternoon, the B team hosts Claremorris B in League One. The side got off to a great start to the season but hit a little rocky patch of late, with one of the results a penalty shootout defeat against tomorrow’s opponents. United will be looking to avenge that defeat with a morale boosting win that will kep United in the hunt for promotion back to Premier Division and the players will certainly be motivated to get back on track. Kick off at United Park tomorrow afternoon is at 2:30 and a large crowd is expected.
Please come out and support your local team.
